Well folks, I had the opportunity to hop on a plane and spend Mother’s Day with the kid and make it to the Bradley Angle Glam Her #fundraiser. If you remember my last post, I talked about Bradley Angle a bit and mentioned that I’d recently donated some personal products to the organization. I’d also sponsored a table at the fundraiser and wasn’t planning to attend because of my move to Houston. As the stars aligned, I made it to the fundraiser and I got to take Jaden with me!
This is Brittany. Beautiful, loving, and has a smile for the ages. A kind person with a heart of gold. She has three beautiful children that she adopted with her loving husband, Lane. Brittany has been one of those friends that I only see once a year or once every couple of years, along with the rest of the University of Tulsa #TU crew.
I remember one of our girls’ trip to #Denver. We stayed in the mountains and went out on snowmobiles. One of us, not me, kept driving off the edge into a ditch. The last time the snowmobile went into the ditch, all of us girls wondered how in the world we’d get that darn snowmobile out of the ditch. Then along came about 10 men, dressed in all black on black snowmobiles. They were there to rescue us! As each one removed their helmet, the next one cuter than the one before, all of us girls grinned sheepishly and played helpless. Yes, we did. It was like a scene from a movie. We still talk about that story whenever we get together. Continue reading I’m Feeling Some Kind of Way
I would have never imagined that one year into being back in the beautiful pacific NW I’d pack my bags and head to #Texas. Yes, #Houston that is. I’ve spent the last ten years building teams and helping members of the health care teams that I’ve been with find their niche in their careers. I’ve enjoyed every bit of the mentoring relationship that I’ve developed and the networks that I’ve built. Over time, I’ve also come to learn what it is that makes me most passionate about my career and my ability to influence change, behavior, patient care delivery and outcomes. Therefore, I’ve accepted a Division Director position in Texas doing work that I know I will love for years to come. I’m so excited about this opportunity and I never thought there would be much to excite me about Texas being the Sooner that I am. Continue reading My Next Adventure – Texas
I’ve had a fine time while here in the Pacific NW. As I crossed the I-5 Bridge this morning, I watched as the clouds settled around Mount Hood. It was a breath-taking sight as always. This is such a beautiful part of the country and being here just reminded me of why I fell in love with the Pacific NW. Being surrounded by the luscious greenery and variety of terrain makes me appreciate being here.
Spending time with Jaden has been a lot of fun. While I still had to parent, especially on the topic of school, we had a great time together. He’s matured tremendously in the Continue reading My Visit to the US
My last blog, I briefly mentioned that I was unsure of how I felt about going back to the US. What I’m about to write will certainly be controversial to some and others won’t quite understand. It was a bit of an internal struggle for me to get on the plane and go back the US. There are many reason I had that struggle and the main one is that I have a new home. When you think about home, there are so many definitions. My favorite is this: An environment offering security and happiness. Continue reading Going to the US
