Girls’ Trip

I’m not talking about the movie and I actually haven’t even seen it yet, but I will. The #GirlsTrip I’m talking about is the one my college friends and I have regularly. It was another spectacular weekend with great food, fun and laughs.

This was our first trip since Brittany’s passing. I admit, I was nervous about getting together because Brittany has been a constant in our girls’ trips. Her absence would speak volumes amongst us…and it  did. We took time to honor and acknowledge her and it was needed. We all miss her beautiful smile and bright positive personality. The good thing that came out of this gathering is we gained two ladies on this trip. Having them there made us appreciate the times we are able to escape and spend time together even more.  Continue reading Girls’ Trip

NYE 2016 – Dallas, TX

December 30th, I woke up and decided that I didn’t particularly want to spend #NYE in WA. I browsed the websites to see how far my points could take me. I quickly learned that I could get to #Mexico for half the price I could get to anywhere in the US. However, I thought hopping on a plane to Mexico at the very last moment just seemed a little insane, even for me. So I quickly decided on #Dallas. Yes, Dallas…I’m not sure why I’ve been spending so much time in Texas lately but I must say it’s been nice getting reacquainted with the place. Continue reading Getting Uncomfortable in 2017

Love the fam!

You must know that I’ve been up to something. I can’t sit still for too long. So let me tell you…

I went to Dallas. Yes, hot Dallas but I had a great time. I stayed @Kimpton hotel, the Hotel Lumen. It’s close to SMU in a great neighborhood with beautiful homes and nice cars. It’s close to nice shopping as well…um nice window shopping rather. The hotel held true to Kimpton’s modern decor. The clean lines and furniture were nice and the pool area was perfect with cabanas to shade you from the Texas heat. The hotel rooms reminded me of converted dorm rooms. The suite I stayed in was one bedroom with a living area and a kitchenette. It was cool. And in typical @Kimpton fashion, I was met with a bottle of wine, seasonal fruit and a hand written welcome card. I enjoyed wine hour and took time to dine in their restaurant The Front Room. The food wasn’t too bad. They could have certainly improved on the shrimp & grits but the lamb and BBQ shrimp were excellent. I also had a cocktail with cilantro…it was interesting. I love to Continue reading Direct Flights Only
