I spent the weekend in #Atlanta to attend my niece’s #wedding. The wedding was at a beautiful venue, The Conservatory at Waterstone, and the outdoor ceremony ended just as a storm rolled in. My niece is pretty unique and my new nephew is too. They balance one another and to be around them is inspiring. Well, in my opinion it is. I don’t know many couples who complete one another. Of course I don’t know the innards of their relationship but I do know enough to know that they really love each other. They are a beautiful couple and I’m happy I had a chance to witness their union. And as the wise old gentle man said during his well wishes: I hope their kids are born naked! (Okay, you had to be there. That’s the funniest things I’ve heard in ages!)
The last time I was in the #ATL I swore I never wanted
to go again. It just wasn’t my cup of tea. This time, however, I had
a fantastic time. Not only was I in great company, I experienced a few cool spots. If you want a cool 1920s #speakeasy joint with amazing #cocktails and nice #cigars, check out The Red Phone Booth. @rpbatlanta has a laid back atmosphere with comfortable seating. The music was mostly #Motown hits so I was in heaven. Peep the dress code gentlemen because you will get turned away if not dressed appropriately. I will certainly go back when I’m in Atlanta.
I also checked out Cigar City Club. Apparently, this is the place to be. The cars in the parking lot reminded me of my days in #Doha at the St. Regis with luxury cars lining the parking lot. I’m sure there were a couple of famous people there too. However, I don’t watch the reality shows so I can’t tell you exactly who it was. @CigarCityClub has a great outdoor seating area and they also serve food. I didn’t check out the cigar selection because I had my own but I’d be shocked if their selection wasn’t exquisite.
Just across from the hotel we stayed at in #Smyrna is a small cigar spot called Maduro’s Cigar Shop. The owners are super nice! It’s a real chill laid back neighborhood cigar lounge. I appreciate the adult beverage selection and the comfortable seating. There’s a DJ on Saturday nights and he was jammin’. It’s a nice place to hang!
The one thing I missed while in Atlanta was the #Jazz scene. All of my Jazz peeps were traveling at the time. Next time I’ll plan better and check out some of the best Jazz in the country. Yup, right there in Atlanta!
Living life, and it’s good!
