I Enjoy Hosting!

2 Crawford Women

I’m always quick to invite people to the Pacific Northwest because it’s such a beautiful part of the country and I want everyone to experience it. Since I’ve been home, not only have I hosted one sister and 2 nephews, I hosted another sister as well! My sister got a special Pacific NW experience…I took her hiking!

There’s a trail in the Columbia Gorge that I love to take people to: Wahcella Falls. It’s a bit of a drive – Read more

I Miss Living Abroad

Hotel Pool 1

Resort in Thailand

It’s official, I miss living abroad. I miss the friends that I made. I miss the food. I miss the lifestyle. I miss the music. I miss the relaxation. I miss the ability to travel. I miss the possibilities.

As I scroll through timelines and see people on fantastic trips I’m happy for them and a little sad for myself. I want to hop on a plane and go to Japan or New Zealand or back to the Maldives. Instead, I can only dream of going to Mexico or Jamaica. Now, don’t get me wrong; I’d love to go to Mexico or Jamaica but it won’t be so easy to just hop on a plane and go like it was in Doha. The Star of the Show

Thor, Jaden & Amir in Bremerton

I have had the pleasure of hosting my sister and 2 nephews for nearly three weeks. It has been great! And the star of the show has been my 2 1/2 year old nephew, Amir. He is sweet as pie and a handful all at the same time. It’s amazing how much I saw him grow in just a short time; from eating more to speaking much more clearly. I’m still having a hard time getting him to put “Auntie” in front of Kendra but we’ll get there eventually. I’ve also never seen anyone eat so many peanut butter crackers! It was also great when he overflowed the toilet! Yes… having a toddler around keeps everyone on their toes. I’ll miss his little good morning hugs. Read more

Enjoying Family

IMG_0423It’s been nice to have a break from working and my time has been quite productive. I’ve managed to get my house back in order. It’s spic and span and I’m working on getting my yard in the condition I want it. Part of the yard work of course is getting my garden going. With the help of my sister, Mica, and my 2-year-old nephew Amir, we planted the first starters of the season: peas and lettuce and my herb garden is all set. It felt good to be back in the garden. I’m a little uncertain about the lettuce though, it’s looking pretty sad. Hopefully it’ll come around. I’ve also gotten my compost going again. I really enjoy this entire process.
