I haven’t spent many quiet evenings at home since arriving in Doha. Tonight, will be one of the few. I have a nice bottle of French Malbec that I purchased from the Qatar Distribution Center and I actually cooked dinner tonight (I roasted a chicken for those who are curious). I do want to take this opportunity to thank my brother #AaronCrawford for introducing me to rosemary when I first moved to the Pacific NW. It’s a beautiful herb that has done me well here in Doha!
Since my last post, I’ve booked yet another trip. Let me tell you all about it… There is a travel company that specializes in group travel. This particular trip will be as a group and there are several colleagues going so it should be really fun. We will travel to country of Jordan and visit Amman, Petra, and the Dead Sea. I must admit, my world has been very small growing up in Oklahoma and moving to the Pacific NW. There are times I must sit in silence so I don’t appear foolish. Most of these places, I really didn’t know existed because I just never allowed myself to explore. And history wasn’t my favorite subject in school. So I will surely educate myself while I’m here! To be surrounded by such rich history is humbling. I will take full advantage of these opportunities as they arise. I will get to visit one of the seven wonders of the world (wasn’t on my bucket list but now the other 6 will be), the Dead Sea (lowest point on earth) and the site where Jesus was baptized.
My big trip and my Christmas present to myself will be a trip to the Maldives. You must click the link and/or Google for images. I stumbled upon these islands and immediately fell in love. Once again, I had no idea they existed. I’m planning to snorkel for the first time, go out on a sailboat for the first time, and will have dinner on the beach. Look forward to the blogs for December! They will be filled with exciting adventures!
I guess I’ll end with a little Jaden story. I’m always getting on to him about keeping his teeth flossed and brushed with his braces. So this morning I asked him, how’s your teeth (because I always ask)…he says, “They’re good…they’re all still in my mouth.” I thought that was so freaking funny! I haven’t laughed so hard in quite a while. He’s got jokes! I won’t tell you what my response was….I love that kid!
Until next time!
